Forty weeks out of the year, a medical student or post graduate physician (resident) receives reproductive health care training through Desert Star Institute for Family Planning. Our Next Generation of Abortion Providers Program (NGAPP) provides training that emphasizes abortion and contraception care and is not available in their traditional medical programs.
Throughout the year we provide educational content via lecture series and community events through our Community Education and Engagement programs. Uninsured, low income people desiring long acting birth control receive the Liletta IUD for a fraction of the cost through our IUD Access Program.
YOU help create this special place where our future family planning providers and our communities receive education and services that will have a lasting impact on their lives and the lives of others. Please join us in helping to build sustainable programs to meet these priorities: 1) Training the next generation of abortion providers and reproductive health advocates, 2) Creating spaces for community conversations and education, and 3) Providing long acting reversible contraceptives to uninsured. Low income people in the communities we serve.
